I've been featured!

Hello all,

I know that it's been just about, well, FOREVER, since I've posted anything on this blog. There is no excuse. Life has just gotten the better of me lately and I have not had any time for posting, creating, etc. I'll be back soon... there is a light at the end of a very busy tunnel, I just need to get to it!

I'm just stopping by today to let you know that one of my designs, the Black Gemstone Stretcy bracelet, has been featured in an Etsy Treasury here. So exciting! Please pop over to the treasury page and have a look at the other awesome items I'm featured with.

Be back soon!

Two New Etsy Listings!

Just a quick update to let you know that I've just added a few new listings to my Etsy shop! Check out the Red Coral Sticks Necklace here and the Metal Flower Pendant Necklace here.

I have a bunch of new designs to get added to my shop. I'm just waiting to be home during the afternoon to catch the sunlight through my windows so that I can get some decent photographs for the listings. (Yes, all but two windows in my home face south and I get the best light in the afternoon. In the morning I get practically zero sunlight! It's incredibly frustrating from an aesthetic perspective and even more frustrating from a photography standpoint.)

Thanks for hanging in there, Readers! I'll be adding more listings just as soon as my schedule and the sunshine align!

Festival Fun

This past weekend I exhibited my jewelry at a local festival with my friend Alyssa of AW Jewelry Designs (She wrote about the experience here.) It was a good weekend, in that we got to spend a lot of quality time together catching up on each others lives and sharing things God is teaching us, etc. We don't have as much time to do that as we would like now that we are both married and mothers to small children.

The festival was not a good experience on the sales side of things. It seemed that most people were not there to buy anything expensive, but were instead looking for small trinkets (if they were going to buy anything at all). We think that sales might be better at a true craft fair rather than at a family festival. The weekend wasn't an entire bust. We did sell a few things and learned a lot about the set up of our booth and what layouts work best, etc. I think that next time (Yes! We are going to try again!) we'll be better prepared from the beginning and hopefully choose an event that is better suited to our product.

Once we've decided on the events (We're planning for one in November and one in December.) I'll update you all so that anyone local can make plans to come out and visit us at our booth. It would be a great opportunity to buy Christmas gifts and get some things knocked off of your holiday to-do list!

Welcome!

Hello Internet! Welcome to the first post on my new blog! (Corny opening? Yes! But that's me, fun, energetic, bubbly and just a bit cheesy.) What do you think of the design? Love it as much as I do? Well then head on over to Jumping Jax Designs and check out the AWESOME work that Becca does. She's an internet/bloggy friend from my days on TheBump.com when we were both on bed rest during our pregnancies. She recently started her own design business and does beautiful work, has prices that can't be beat and has a lightening fast turn around! (Seriously! She was ready to work on the design for this blog before I was ready to work on it!)

My goal for this blog is too keep you updated on new jewelry designs, new products (Keep an eye out for photo greeting cards in the near future!), sales and promotions and general happenings in my life that affect my business. I'll try to keep most personal stuff off of this blog, but things might bleed over a bit as my personal life definitely affects my energy level, the time I have to work on jewelry and Etsy postings, my creativity and so on.

My business is new, barely off the ground, and I'm sure there will be growing pains as I learn and adjust to the market and economic times. I hope to provide you with beautiful jewelry designs at affordable prices and also include some of my other crafty hobbies as the business grows. Over the next few weeks I'll be adding my photo greeting cards to my Etsy shop and hope that you all will be as excited about them as I am!

Thanks for reading! More to come soon!
